A leading e-commerce and online auction company aimed to enhance its influencer marketing strategy and improve its affiliate network program. They needed to analyze influencer-promoted products, evaluate their positioning against competitors, and boost YouTube viewer engagement

Our Data Analytics team was engaged to develop a tailored solution for these challenges. We focused on data preparation, including a comprehensive quality check of over 100 YouTube channels to ensure accuracy and consistency. Additionally, we developed a user-friendly application customized to the client’s requirements, allowing users to retrieve specific information from all the YouTube videos in scope.

The client benefited from this solution by gaining easy access to visualized insights on video performance metrics, enabling informed decision-making and optimization of brand promotion efforts on YouTube.

  • Scrape products promoted by influencers to understand their positioning vs competitors.
  • Insights to drive decision making process regarding their affiliate network program.

 

Our Solution

  • Data preparation:

-Development of data quality check on the YouTube (YT) channel names provided by the client to ensure accuracy and consistency (+100 channels).

  • Development of a web application:

-Retrieval of URLs from +5000 videos’ descriptions and verify their functionality by pinging the web and checking for redirects or errors.

-Development of a user-friendly application tailored to the client’s requirements that allows users to retrieve specific information from all the YT videos in scope.

Outcome

  • Easy access to visualization of insights on video performance metrics such as the number of views, likes, and other relevant statistics.
  • Assessment of the impact and engagement levels of videos produced by various YouTube channels associated with the client’s brand or industry.
  • Redirection of brand promotion efforts on YT through the quality check of the videos URLs.
  • Process of a weekly extraction to have an updated view on a growing number of channels.
